Environmental Sanitation Tax & Visitax

Please note that guests staying at Sandos Playacar are required to pay the Environmental Sanitation Tax, a local municipal fee collected at check-in. This tax is calculated per adult guest per night and typically ranges from approximately $33.94 MXN to $11.31 MXN, depending on the number of adults in the room. Children under 12 are exempt. The final amount may vary based on current municipal regulations.

In addition, all international visitors to the state of Quintana Roo (which includes Playa del Carmen) must pay the Visitax, a tourism fee mandated by the state government. The cost is approximately $18–$20 USD per person, and it can be paid online before travel or upon arrival. Travelers under 15 years of age are exempt.
